Sunscreens are tested at an application density of 2.0 mg/cm². Applying less exponentially decreases the protection factor.

Formula: (Length × Width) = Area cm². Area × 2.0mg = Required mg. (Divide mg by 1000 for grams. 1/4 teaspoon ≈ 1.25g).
